Lola's incredible Keto weight loss transformation

Woman smiling with sunglases, her name is Lola and this blog is about her weightloss journey
I’m Lola. I am in my early 30s. Wife and a Mom of 2 girls & fur baby. . I work as a full time high school  instructional assistant for special Ed and I coach little kids gymnastics. I have been following the ketogenic lifestyle  for almost 3 yrs. I love anything outdoors and traveling.
So, Lola, What made you decide to make a change in your life?

One day I realized how far I had let myself go, I had 0 confidence and I was not mentally where I needed to be for me and my family. I was very overweight, unhappy, and binging frequently. I knew I needed to change but didn’t know how bad I need that change until now.

And how has this Impacted your weight loss journey?
My weight loss has completely changed my life. I have become a better and happier person, I have regained my self-esteem and confidence. I’m learning to have a better relationship with food but most importantly I’m learning to
love myself again.
How do you find the motivation to keep going, even on tough days and who/what are your biggest motivators?

There are days where I just want to eat and give up but then I remembered how far I have come, how good I feel and not just physically but mentally, and how proud my husband and daughters are of my achievements. Although they are my motivators I have realized that I AM my biggest motivator. I’m not where I want to be but I’m getting closer each time.

What are your favorite products that help you stay motivated?

Hard to say since I love all the products I have tried so far. The greens are definitely a must, The chocolate protein powder is a great much needed treat after a killer work out. Electrolytes for those days when I need a bit more hydration. Did I mention that they are the absolute best tasting electrolytes!! And lastly but not least the multivitamins.

Haha, Awesome! What are your top three ways of staying on track and staying fit?

Keeping my meals super simple, tracking my macros and working out 6 days a week. Although I have only been working out for about 10 weeks I'm loving this new phase and has helped me so much not only physically but Mentally and that's a win.

Do you believe in "cheat days" or steering away from your normal routine?

I used to believe in cheat days when I 1st started and throughout my weightloss journey I learned to have more Balance days once or twice a week. And by balance days I mean eating goodies I wouldn't normally eat during the week. Like more carbs, a treat here and there but in controlled portions. I feel that when we start having “cheat days” we are forcing ourselves mentally to stuff our bellies with all kinds food and this mentality is driving us away from a healthy relationship with food and making wiser food choices.

Ok- Great. Thank you. What would you say was was your biggest mistake at the beginning of this journey?

Calling my new lifestyle a DIET. Having that diet mentality led me to believe that carbs are our number one enemy when in fact being uniform and uneducated about our food and nutrition is!

What words of advice do you have for anyone who is trying to change their lives?

Be mentally prepared for the great and not-so-good days. Do your research, read and inform yourself about the new lifestyle you are about to embark.
